Mare Hahn decorated her first cake when she was only nine years old. On March 1, 1978 she and her husband Bill founded Mare's Cake & Candy Supplies offering cake and candy making supplies to individuals and businesses in the local area. In 1981, Mare and Bill built a new kitchen in their shop and began to build their enviable reputation for homemade decorated cakes. We met with Mare recently, and listened as she described Mare's Cake & Candy Supplies' offerings;

Mare's Cake & Candy Supplies has become one of Northeast Ohio's largest custom designers of wedding cakes. Throughout the years we have provided bridal couples with cakes that are both elegantly decorated and delicious in taste. We carry a full range of cake and candy making supplies, including milk, dark, and white chocolate, sprinkles, candy molds, boxes, doilies, cake decorating tips, pastry bags, plastic cake-top decorations, packaging materials, and labels.

We take orders for wedding cakes up to a year before the scheduled event, and finalize the order four to six weeks prior to the wedding when attendance figures are more accurate. Once the brides place their cake orders with us, we schedule the delivery times and coordinate with their florists. If their florist is not going to the hall personally, they can deliver the completed arrangements to us and we'll take them to the hall for the brides.

With sheet cakes and birthday cakes, we offer eleven different flavors of cake and your choice of five fillings. We've developed an impressive reputation for our French Buttercreme which has the texture of whipped cream with a real buttery taste. It's taken years to perfect the recipe for our French Buttercream, and the icing is made here in our shop one batch at a time.

We're a family owned and operated business and take pride in the quality of our products. I'm very fussy about not only how things get done, but also about who does it. Nothing leaves our shop that I wouldn't place on my own table. We strive to personalize our services to the precise needs of our customers, and endeavor to make each cake as memorable as the special day they represent.
