During his tenure as Conptroller at two previous employers, Brian Reese developed a desire to open his own business. We met recently with Brian Reese, owner and President, and Vice-President Brian Gallagher recently, and listened as they provided this overview of the services they offer;

Financial Healthcare Associates, Inc. is an accounts receivable management firm focusing on the reimbursement of hospital providers through government funded programs. We're contracted through the finance department of the hospitals to help ensure their financial stability, while at the same time compassionately meeting the needs of their uninsured patient population. We assist uninsured patients by walking them through the necessary processes to help them find a third-party reimbursement source, such as those provided by Social Security Disability Insurance, Medicaid, or state funded charity programs to help them pay their medical bills.

We have financial counselors on duty at our healthcare provider partners' location eight hours a day, and they receive reports identifying the self-pay population that was admitted the previous day. Through face-to-face interviews with these patients, we assess their potential eligibility for government funded programs. Once we've determined patients to be qualified, we act as their representative to guide them through the eligibility process. Our partner hospitals are then able to bill the appropriate third party agency for the patient's care.

In addition to providing financial assistance to the uninsured population, we also handle Workers Compensation claim processing for our clients. Whenever a patient comes into the hospital and declares that they were injured at work, the hospital refers the case to us. We in turn guide the patient through the process of filing a report of their injury with the Bureau of Workman's Compensation and submitting all the appropriate medical documentation needed so their claim can be adjudicated. Once the paperwork is completed and the claim has been approved, the hospital can then bill the appropriate managed care organization .
