After college Dave Sweet began working as a sales representative for a distributor of laser marking and engraving equipment. When the manufacturer asked if he'd consider becoming the company's distributor for the Northeast Ohio territory in 1989, Dave founded Engraving System Integrators, Inc. Throughout the ensuing years, his territory continued to expand, and today Engraving System Integrators, Inc. services the equipment needs of the industry nationwide. We met with Dave recently, and listened as he described his company and the products he offers;

Engraving System Integrators, Inc. distributes computerized laser engraving and cutting systems to manufacturers needing to label their products with everything from serial numbers to customized lettering and graphics. We carry a wide variety of laser systems, including CO² lasers, YVO⁴ (Yttrium Vanadate Oxygen to the 4th) lasers, Nd:YAG lasers, and fiber lasers. We offer cost effective solutions for marking and cutting of most materials, and strive to match our customers with the system most suitable for their application.

Our typical customer is a large, well known manufacturer, but we also do a lot of work with the government. Twenty percent of our customers are smaller entrepreneurs starting off in their homes who want to incorporate the laser as an artistic tool for cutting or marking, in addition to engraving and award shops. We've supplied equipment to General Electric for putting serial numbers on their products, and to Little Slugger for personalizing baseball bats.
