Becky Marshall began working in a Fairview Park beauty salon in 1969. She started working at Jean's Hairstyling in 1987 and stayed at the salon throughout the years until the owner decided to retire in 2005. Becky purchased the shop, changed the name to Becky's Hair, and continued the salon's four decades of service in the same location. We met with Becky recently, and listened as she described her shop's services and atmosphere;

Becky's Hair specializes in a full line of hair treatments ranging from cutting to coloring, perms, roller sets, teasing, and blow drying. I have an intentionally old-fashioned shop catering to clients who enjoy getting their hair done once a week in a friendly, relaxed setting by a stylist they know by name. I work mainly by appointments, but always try to accommodate walk-ins as time permits.

I strive to ensure that at Becky's Hair we have reasonable prices and there's no pressure to do add-ons or purchase products. We are the type of salon where middle-aged ladies can comfortably discuss not only their lifestyle but also the hair style that meets their current needs. When I go into some of the more current salons, I feel old as soon as I walk through their door. I don't want to feel old because I'm not! I'm happy at my present stage of life and have designed Becky's Hair to help each patron find a style that will look good on them while requiring as much or as little upkeep as they prefer.

The best part of my job is hearing the ladies say how much they enjoy being able to come here and relax in a peaceful setting. They sit down, let out a sigh of relief, get their hair done, and leave feeling better than when they came in.
